Teleporting

I don't know if i'm crossing any lines with this question, but why isn't tpa/tpahere permitted? They require acceptance and there's a code of conduct for pvp, so there wouldn't be an issue with sneak attack type killings. With the lack of rails, teleporters, and roads to many of the towns/kingdoms/nations/whatever, it's hard to get around to some of the more outlying places. I've only played on a handful of servers, so I am by no means an expert on anything, I just feel like it's a good thing to use, if only until there's access to everywhere.

On one hand, we do have the waypoints which can be set up fairly quickly. But I've been so used to being able to teleport to players or have them come to me that I find it a pain to erect a rune just to make that happen.

Also, heh, that rail system. I tried using one ages ago and couldn't even place a cart and outsiders weren't allowed to switch.
Unless everyone is allowing public access to it, a railroad is of no use to those who aren't members. I didn't really fancy the walk I took on said rails...

1. We do have teleporters. These are denoted by runecraft symbols. You can find it here.
2. We do have a rail system, but it seems to have fallen out of use and become obsolete to the teleporters. However, in most cases, if you want to use the system, you drop a gold nugget into the receptacle and usually a minecart will pop out to give you a ride. This isn't really friendly to new players unfortunately.

Due to your second point and the fact that new players that join others don't want to travel long distance, likely die, lose all their stuff and then have to start over again I strongly am in support of /tpa and /tpahere.

It's almost tradition not to use /tpa on anembra. We've never actually used it before. Well allowed use of it. The rail was a great idea. It helps makes the cities more interconnected. If the server were to receive more traffic o believe they would be used a lot more. We need a better way To get ourselves out there. Find out a way to get atleast 15 players on during low time. And 30 to 40 during our peaks. It would be a nice change to have improved traffic to the server.

Maybe people just don't know how to read the rail signs? We've made it pretty idiot proof... a nugget for a cart and transport to any moderately sized town of your choosing. I'm really pushed to weekend building these days but I'd be totally up for building rails/stations/switches for anyone within a reasonable distance of the main line and if they are willing to cover at least a majority of the raw iron and gold costs for their branch. I've recently built a full beacon so I'm pretty tapped for iron at the moment.

Also you worry about players dying? I die more than probably anybody else. My secret to recovering lost items... set a home before you go somewhere bad.

Actually atlas very far in the past tpa was allowed but it cost gold to use. Not saying we should have it because I don't want it but it has been allowed in the past. Just the distant past.
