[Resolved] Chestshop

Is it possible that you have a lever or door close to the signs?
If you find the ones that are supposedly locked, use /cunlock and click the sign.
This will only remove any possible protection on the sign, not on the chests.

Hi Knas, thx for responding.
I don't think it's related to doors or levers, as it seems to be ALL my chestshops in Amberton, many of which have been used previously by various players with no problem of this kind.
It's almost as though they are being read as regular chests rather than chestshop chests. The message coming up is just like for a personal chest- "This chest is locked with a magical spell." I confirmed that the signs were being clicked, not the chests themselves.
I will certainly try the unlock cmd and see if that helps but I am really perplexed as to why they would all lock at once. Never heard of this problem before. There hasn't been any change made to the plugin then?
Ima check the mcforum etc and see if this comes up. Also will try again tomorrow, maybe it is just a temporary glitch of some sort and will resolve with a reset. Of course, I can't test them myself because I can't purchase my own stock.
I had both Bobz test several chests in 3 different stores and Fronts tried some as well. They both got the same lock message.

I tried breaking and re-making a chestshop sign but now I don't seem to be able to make chestshops at all. I will try again later in case I somehow did it wrong, but I don't think so as I have done lots of them before.

Just wanted to weigh in on the fact that I hope this is able to be fixed soon and that it's a simple fix. (See other notes for my thoughts on what the problem might be) I really like to buy stuff from shops and to use them in my builds. Sometimes its easier and more convenient to just buy the item and not have to search all over the world to find it! I hate looking for glowstone for example as its a pita to get to and find in the nether.
Other Notes:
The fact that you aren't able to create them anymore does kind of sound like the plugin is either broken or their is a permissions issue. Also, he likely assigns permission per group and not per player (can you imagine how many players he has to update if he updates their permissions manually!)

Thanks a lot for your comments, Fay. Nice to hear that I am on the right track with the permissions issue....a few months back I only had the vaguest idea of what a plugin even was!
Guess I will just have to wait until knas has a chance to look at the config (or yml?not sure what the file with the perms is called...still learning terms). Hopefully won't be too long, but I'm sure he has a million other things on his list too.
Meanwhile, I'm still interested to know if anyone else is having this problem, and also if I am right in my recollection that some plugins were reinstalled or updated lately.
Problems like this are frustrating, but on the bright side, they force me to spend some time in various forums where I inevitably learn something new, even if it is unrelated to my original question.

It seems like you've misunderstood the design a bit I think.
You've currently set up the chest with a sign on it, whilst the sign is supposed to go on the wall behind it!

Keep in mind as well it is /cremove not /cunlock. /cunlock is only if you have set a password for the chest/protected item in question. Just for future reference.
