I know this can be a contentious issue, because everyone plays differently, but may I request that we set inventory to be kept upon death? There aren't many people which play pvp-style, that I have seen (correct me if I'm wrong), where you would steal someone else's gear and items, and those that do probably set out with the intention of not carrying anything that's a huge issue to lose, and aren't probably that interested in stealing another player's gear. We, also, still have a punishment of losing money, so it's not like players aren't punished - though if you own a town you might just deposit money.
The reason this is bug related: since I've been playing, again, both Chai and I have died and our inventories are gone, instantly, every time. J had mentioned thinking it might be related to multiple people online, but it was just me online, the last few times. I'm suspicious of a chunk load/unload issue, or world loading issue, when a player is sent back to spawn. I died inside of my town, went to spawn, then /home and it's gone, in that short time. Rather than futzing with finding the culprit, perhaps we just keep it.
My only other suggestion is to consider one of the death plugins to handle death; this might override whatever is happening. I tried to find one with a cost-to-retrieve customization, but, I guess, since we already lose money, maybe just a chest retrieval is adequate.

If this is unpopular, I won't throw a fit; It's just for your consideration.
